2010's

This decade is not quite over yet but in this post I will talk about everything that has happened so far in it. To start off, a couple new genres of music made their first appearance in this decade such as electronic music, indie rock, EDM, and synthpop. EDM and electronic music are basically the same thing just one hypes up the listener a little more. Dubstep and other rave like genres all fall under the category of EDM which includes certain artists such as Skrillex. The pop groups are just as booming as ever with the most famous artists releasing  albums left and right such as Drake, Justin Bieber, Adele, Taylor Swift, and Kanye West. There are many new rappers trying to push their way into the top charts of the rapping community and it has developed some great groups in the process.
Here are some top 10's of the 2010's:

  1. Drake
  2. Kanye West
  3. Katy Perry
  4. Adele
  5. Beyonce
  6. Taylor Swift

2000's

the 00's were one of the less prominent music decades of all time but that does not mean it wasn't still great. It was filled with all different genres of music such as country, rock, punk, metal, screamo, pop, hip-hop and countless others. My personal favorite is a band known as "The Black Keys" who are a popular blues-rock kind of group and are still continuing to make their music. Not many people realize all the rock groups that are still left in this generation and they are tremendously underrated. The 2000's are filled with great artists however such as Nickelback, Kelly Clarkson, Eminem, and Fall Out Boy and they all vary in different styles of work. You may connect with Eminems feelings on a deeper level than a regular song but you will always be able to sing your heart out along with a Kelly Clarkson song. Here is another top 10 band list:

  1. Green Day
  2. The Black Keys
  3. The Strokes
  4. Muse
  5. The White Stripes
  6. Paramore
  7. Coldplay
  8. U2
  9. Foo Fighters
  10. My Chemical Romance

1990's

If you were a fan of music made in the 90's then you were a fan of grunge. There was no way around it, grunge was becoming the most popular form of music in the decade quickly and dominantly. The other genres still around were pop, hip-hop, rock and even reggae. Lots of followers of the famous bands that made their debut in this time were teenagers who, like other generations, just wanted to piss off their parents. Whether you're rocking out to an emotional, meaningful Kurt Cobain song or a forceful, head banger of a jam by Rage Against the Machine you couldn't get away from the beauty of the 90's. Here is another top 10 list of what I believe are to be the best bands of the decade:

  1. Nirvana
  2. Green Day
  3. Pearl Jam
  4. Red Hot Chili Peppers
  5. Foo Fighters
  6. Soundgarden
  7. Radiohead
  8. Stone Temple Pilots
  9. Weezer
  10. The Offspring
